Once again inspired by the book Trubloff: The Mouse Who Wanted to Play the Balalaika, tonight I decided to recreate one of the illustrations from this beautiful book. Instead of using paint like the illustrator did, I thought it would be a fun challenge to convert the concept to a Sharpie marker drawing. I like the result, but I think I’m a little light-headed from the markers. How do Sharpie-users avoid this? Or do they just get used to it?
This evening, I made a tiny short film about the snow since there is a snowstorm going on in Chicago right now. Note: I always pretend that I don’t like the snow because it’s dirty and cold, but I actually think it’s pretty.
More photos. These are from our day cross country skiing and hiking in the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest in Wisconsin. We had great weather and enjoyed spending time and being active outdoors. A lovely day!
Today, I went to Costco with some friends (and bought large quantities of things like toilet paper and wine) and then drove around with them and my boyfriend to find “for rent” signs. They’re hoping to move to my neighborhood. Yay!
